you wouldn't know it by my characteristically obsessive and excitable nature, but it's actually a pretty rare occasion i get that excited about an album i hear. phantogram's eyelid movies is an exception. it's a pretty good achievement to absolutely wow me on first listen, and an even huger one to wow every listener with your first album. i could very well be biased, since they're located somewhere between two of my other loves, chilled-out school of seven bells and electro-experimental sleigh bells, but what's the harm in seeing for yourself? “daydreams, the spots you see moving around when your eyes are closed tight, and the shapes you see in the world,” says phantogram’s josh carter, “those are the kinds of things we want to surface in your mind when you hear a phantogram song” and they couldn't have done it better. if you don't have it already, i hate to be the one to have to tell you this but sorry, your life's not complete. so hurry along and wow yourself too.
