verdant gaze

i've been split right down the middle with loretta lux's hyperreal/surreal/not-sure-what-kind-of-real photographs that appear almost like oil paintings. some i think i love, others i'm certain i hate, but one thing that's undeniable is that they certainly stir up strong reactions in their viewers if nothing else. she's very secretive about her technique - and with good reason, creating one's own style is especially important in the highly competitive world of photography - and since i can't say i've ever seen such a collection of saucer-eyed, saccharine children she's certainly mastered that so kudos to her.
